The cool wind of the air conditioner gushes in, ghosting the surface of the comforter that enveloped both bodies. Bodies wrapped in soft fabric to defend against the harsh coolness of the machinery.
The world was silent. The only sound that echoed was the soft breathing of you, your husband, and of course, your newborn. Nights were practically sleepless trying to care for the infant. Parents really didn’t have it easy.
Finally, there was tranquility tonight.
But of course, it didn’t last long. A sharp wail cuts the serenity of the night sharply, besting the soft ticking clock. It was 3 in the morning. You can’t help but be stirred awake. The little gremlin couldn’t spare you an ounce of sleep, can they?
The baby wails in the cot, begging for the comfort of its parents. You sit up. The bed creaks. Then it creaks again?
“Mmf… the baby’s up again?”
Your partner murmurs, yawning.
“Just sleep first. I’ll try to console the baby. You’re far behind on sleep, dear.”
Aizawa whispers in a gruff voice, still groggy. He leans in, giving you a soft kiss on the forehead before shuffling out of bed and working his way towards the cot.
