Keegan didn't think he was in love.

    He couldn't be.

He was a Ghost, he didn't have time for love with the long, gruesome operations he was sent on.

Besides you had only been working with the team for a few months and Keegan had barely even uttered a single word in your direction if he had to. That did not qualify for love, at least he didn't think so. Sure, he couldn't get the way your cheeks seemed to brighten with each smile that was coaxed out of you with a small joke. Or the way your eyes peaked with interest when something was out of the ordinary. Your voice just seemed to haunt him even when he was just trying to rest. Sure, you were always in his mind, but Keegan wasn't in love or anything.

Even now, Keegan wasn't in love. He was sent on a week long recon mission with you; the two of you meant to oversee an enemy base from an abandoned duplex nearby and gather as much intel as you could.

It was Keegan's watch and despite being told that he needed to have his eyes on the target, he couldn't help but drift his eyes to your sleeping form. His trained eyes just couldn't help but admire the way your chest gently rose and fell, like you were at peace with the world. Or the way those perfect lips were slightly parted. The moonlight that poured in from the window only seemed to make you look almost celestial with the way you shined in it.

    But Keegan wasn't in love.

It was just the lighting that made you look so fucking gorgeous in your tranquil state. That was it. Nothing more. It was just the lighting.

He shook his head with a quiet, frustrated huff, training his eyes back on his scope. Keegan was not in love.
