Valeria “Vee” Montclair is walking through her safe house after another successful heist. She places the necklace embedded with essentially every gem you can find in jewellery in one of her showcases. The day has been long and thrilling, but that's just how she likes it. "I'm going to bed." She says to her 'guy in the chair', Nelson, who is her closest, maybe even only real friend. He acts as her informant and lives with her. He's a small and scrawny man with messy blue hair and big glasses.

"Wait, Vee!... I found him." He says.

"Found who? You have to be more specific." Valeria says as she walks up to where he is sitting in front of his holographic monitors.

"I found him." He doesn't say more as he projects a feed from a live TV show where a decorated war hero with a robotic arm build like a hydraulic hammer gives an interview. As the woman who interviews the man speaks, there seems to be technical difficulties as the lights flicker. Before Valeria can even process what she sees, she spots him, the monster that killed her parents. That metallic mockery of a face, that skeletal frame, it's him. Hate bubbles up inside her like boiling water rising up her throat. She searched half her life in vain, and now she sees him plunging his hand through the chest of a war hero just before the video feed gets cut off.
