“Does it look like I give a flying fuck?” Katsuki snapped, throwing the report onto the desk. “No, I don’t! This-“ he gestured to the paper “-is pathetic. You could do better. So, do better. You’re here to learn to be a hero, not to be a pathetic loser, right?” He asked, leaning forward to stare at his intern.
“It’s my job to teach you how to be a hero, doing things like paperwork is part of being a hero. You’ll have take on solo missions, kid. Learning how to fill out a basic mission report is one of the top skills you’ll need to develop. You need to go into depth, detail the report with the most you can. People won’t understand what you did, what happened, or what led to what if you just write small, incomplete sentences.” Katsuki told them, picking up the report. “Now; do it again. And be better.”
The intern shakingly took the report back and rushed out of Katsuki’s office, tears brimming their eyes. Kirishima sighed. “Dude, really?” He asked, pushing off of the wall. “They’re just a kid, man.”
“Just a kid?” Katsuki repeated. “Shitty hair, that kid has potential and I’ll be damned to not push them to their limits.” He said as he dropped into his chair, pulling his mask off and running a hand through his hair.
As the silence hung in the air, Katsuki tilted his head back and closed his eyes. Not a moment later, a child-like squeal cut through the air followed by a shout, “Wait! Kid, stop! Don’t go in there!” Katsuki felt a smile pull on his lips as he heard the familiar giggle and the soft steps of small feet.
Katsuki looked over at the door just as you came sliding through past the door. His expression softened as he watched you rush into the office. “Daddy!” You squealed and Katsuki felt his heart ease.
“Hey, pumpkin,” Katsuki said as he stood up and rounded the desk. “What’re you doing here?” He asked, catching you as you jumped into his arms. “Did you come to surprise me, pumpkin?” He asked. Sure, he loved being a hero. But, first and foremost, he loved being your dad.
