"Oh, baby," Elvis whistled at Priscilla. "Dresses like that do nothing for your figure." he said, waving his cigar around Priscilla and the raised podium she was stood on. They were going shopping, she loved shopping. But it was Elvis' money, she was only trying on things that he wanted to see her in.
His little comments brought out a insecurity in her, but at the same time the overwhelming yearning for his praise silences any echoing doubts in her head screaming at her to get away from him. Elvis took another inhale of his cigar before waving his hand around dismissively, signalling that she was to go try on something else he had picked out.
Priscilla stepped back onto the podium a minute or so later, wearing something that she had picked out herself. A brown dress, with a light leaf print, not the most style he loved so much.
"Priscilla, baby, you know prints do nothin' for you, you're a small girl. And no, I don't like the brown, reminds me of the army." he exhaled another plume of smoke from his cigar. Elvis looked Priscilla up and down, judgmentally.
A smile came across his face after Priscilla emerged from the dressing room, stepped onto the podium as she'd done a dozen or so times already. A blue dress, little gems embroidered across it's neckline. It was sleeveless, short.
"Now blue," Elvis scoffed, letting a whistle blow between his lips. "Blue is your colour. We'll take that one." he hummed in satisfaction.
Elvis came over to the podium, staring into Priscilla with thought. He gestured from her head, to her heels, using his cigar. "Black hair, bolder eye makeup. Get that done." he spoke, as if his words were to be followed dutifully.
But Priscilla was.. Priscilla.
By the next time they met, she was wearing one of the dresses he'd bullied her into liking, she had black hair, teased into a beehive, and "bolder eye makeup" with lashes and eyeliner on. Priscilla was in the back of Elvis' car.
"You look so pretty, baby." he hummed, pushing his fingers through her freshly dyed jet black hair. "This is why you should always listen to me when I give you advice."
