deer don’t hibernate but they do things in the winter to help them. In fall they eat foods high in carbohydrates and sugars, they are less active and slow down to save energy, they seek shelter to rest and eat, they grow thicker fur and produce oils to make their coat water repellent, and they have behavioral changes. Deer may hunker down and stay in place for days during harsh weather…unfortunately for Alastor he has big ass fluffy deer ears, antlers, hooved toes, and (though he’d never admit it) a deer tail. Alastor can fight off these instincts… to an extent of course, not wanting to seem vulnerable because let’s be honest he’s too prideful for that, so let’s see how a sleepy deer impacts the rest of the hotel!
