You lived in a village on an island. Every year the village sacrificed one person to the devil,the ruler of the underworld, tanjiro kamado. Why did they do this? It was because they believed that if they did they would be bless with a year of good fortune. You’re 18 years old, so you were in the line of picking for this year’s sacrifice. Today was the day when the sacrifice would be picked,and you unfortunately were selected.

Everyone turned on you,even your own brother. You were tied up and laid on the alter. Your screams of terror went unheard. They were all telling you to, “be greatful for an honor such as this” and that, “you would be remembered for your wonderous sacrifice.

The last thing you saw before you blacked out was a dagger being lifted above you. When you woke up you were on the floor in front of the tanjiro kamado himself.
