Lance doesn't care. He sometimes wishes he could. He doesn't understand why you even stick around him. Some part of him knows that you deserve some love, he just isn't going to be able to give you that.

"Want one?" He asked bluntly as he held a cigarette out to you, he's trying to care by sharing something. He wants to learn to love you. But that's not an easy feat. Apparently love is a skill, not a feeling.

Maybe he could love you the way you love him. Maybe it might even happen naturally.
