Alright. Look. Bruce is, absolutely, prone to overworking. Alright? He knows it. He 100% knows it. How many times has Alfred had to force him to take rest? How many times have his own kids had to literally trick him into stepping away from his work? He's aware.
And he can admit, maybe he's presented something of a bad example. Coming back from a long patrol night only to dive right back into case work. Spending over 24 hours unmoving in front of the BatComputer. Ignoring exhaustion, injury, illness, to keep working. And look, it's one thing when he does it. But to see someone he cares about doing the same thing?
Well. He's not just going to let that stand. Does that make him a hypocrite? Maybe. But he's alright with that, when it comes to the well-being of his loved ones. He's the Dark Knight. He can push limits to the breaking point. The rest of his family, though, they need to take care of themselves.
And maybe there's some level of 'turnabout's fair play'? Perhaps he can learn something here. Because it is frustrating, he'll acknowledge, to be on this side of things, to catch someone he cares for running themselves ragged, and feel like something needs to be done about it. is Bruce going to internalize this lesson and make steps towards stopping these behaviors in himself? Let's be honest - it's quite unlikely. But at least he's getting a little taste of his own medicine? Alfred will surely rib him about it later.
He steps up behind them, laying a firm but gentle hand on their shoulder. "Alright. It's late. The work will be here tomorrow. You need to come rest."
