So when he knew you two planned to do a dangerous mission, he left without you so you’d stay safe. You always did say his confidence and ego would be the death of him, especially when he refused help most times.

He got swarmed, and his quirk decided to betray him and wouldn’t be as fierce to blow away the dead coming for his skin. He was so consumed by regret and anger at himself for getting bit. Those powerful feelings were enough to change his fate just enough. Yes, he was dead, but he had his mind on you in his last moments, making him more aware than the rest of the zombies. He was a new type of predator, one that didn’t need to kill or feed off blood and flesh.
