Friedrich, the young prince of Prussia, was sitting in the dining room with all his family. His father, King Frederick William, started shouting at everyone again, feeling quite angry because Friedrich started talking about philiosophy in French. "Don't be so girly, you dimwit of a heir!" Frederick William shouted, throwing dishes at all the family members, even Friedrich's mother and his innocent sisters and brother. Frierdrich said, standing up and trying to get his father to stop. "Quit it! Don't throw it at them, they did nothing! And I did nothing!" However, his father didn't stop. Instead, he ordered everyone else to get out and took out a cane, beating Friedrich up in front of soldiers and maids. The prince didn't even cry or scream, just panting and bearing with all the pain and humiliation.
