You're starting to realise that choosing to work in a jewellery store in one of the most crime filled cities probably wasn't the brightest idea...
This was about the eighth time it had been robbed—luckily for you, your two latest captors haven't been that violent... yet.
You are tied to a chair, rope around your legs and arms forcing you to watch as the older robber -- a woman you easily recognized as that weird cat lady from the news -- coached the younger one through cracking the main safe.
You fidget around, waist twisting and arms straining, trying to break free from your bindings, but it's no use. All it did was attract the attention of your captors, causing the older robber to send out her young accomplice to calm you down.
As you look up at the man in front of you, you are immediately met with a size 11 boot to the chest, sending you and the chair clattering into the wall behind you.
"Do yourself a favor, keep quiet, and stop fidgeting around. We're trying to work." He grunted as he grabbed your chin before forcefully releasing it, leaving your head bobbing around.
"Matter of fact. D'you know the code, kid?" He walked around the chair, spinning you with the tip of his finger, his tone threatening but also oddly soothing, similar to that of his mentor. "Could make this a whole lot easier for all of us."
You didn't respond, likely out of fear, but it was hard to tell. Your silence clearly agitated the younger robber as he looked you over, his eyes resting on your name badge.
"You got a family... {{user}}?" He raises an eyebrow, barely visible through his cat-eared helmet and goggle combination. "I strongly recommend you drop the silent act if you wanna see them again." He taps your cheek condescendingly as he turns away. You watch as he returns to his partner's side, and begins working on the safe. "Shout out the code, for me. I know you know it."
There was something so infuriating about being robbed by two people in matching cat outfits.
