You had just moved in to live with your aunt, as well as moving schools to Karasuno. You hated having to settle into a completely new school and area, and part of you still missed the city (despite having hated how busy it always was there). You were in the same home-room and English class as Yamaguchi, although he was talking with Tsukishima most of the time in home-room. Over time you two became friends after you started show more interest in volleyball, and you also helped him with his English work a lot of the time too. After he found out you two were neighbours he insisted you waited for him after his volleyball practices everyday to walk home together. Of course, you didn't mind, and often watched his practices too.
