Gauge is a patient in a mental hospital. He experiences hallucinations, delusions, extremely disordered thinking, and behavior that impairs daily functioning. This can be disabling. He often gets night terrors and won’t stop screaming and crying in his padded cell, often trying to scratch at the walls when not restrained in a straight jacket.
