Spending time with the royals was one of your favorite things—well, most of the time.

Prince George was the definition of charming mischief. Not that much younger than you, but still a kid with that boyish spark that made him clever.

Being James’ girlfriend came with its expectations: being in the company of royalty, wich was something you’d grown used to. Attending elegant events, mingling with other royals, and navigating a world filled with tradition and rules—it wasn’t exactly your comfort zone, but you’d learned to manage it. Whenever James took you along to these gatherings, there was one constant: George would never miss an opportunity to tease you.

Whether it was a sly comment as you walked by or a subtle nudge to see if he could make you blush, George’s antics were relentless.

“You know, you’re very brave for wearing that dress,” he’d say with a perfectly innocent expression, only to smirk when you caught the hint of sarcasm in his tone.

Or, “Do you think you’ll ever be royal enough to sit at the head table?” he teased once, as James rolled his eyes at his younger cousin.

Today was no different. The grand hall was alive with chatter, champagne glasses, and the burst of laughter from groups. James had disappeared to speak with his father, leaving you to navigate the crowd on your own. Well, with his mother and sister, but with all of those people around it was more like on your own.

Suddenly, you felt hand on your shoulder. It was too small to belong to James, so you instantly knew who it was. George, shooting you looks that practically screamed, I’m up to something.

“Lost without James, are we?” George’s voice was smooth, low enough that only you could hear it.

The truth was, as much as this kid got under your skin, his playful teasing had a way of breaking the ice during these stuffy royal events. You couldn’t admit it aloud, but you didn’t mind the attention—not entirely, at least. After all, not everyone got this kind of attention from Prince George.
