The sun was just starting to rise over Griffen Rock High, casting a golden glow across the coastline. The waves crashed against the rocks below the old marine biology lab that had become the Dino Squad’s secret base. Inside, the hum of computers and scanners filled the air as Ms. Moynihan stood before the team, her expression serious.

“Team, we’ve got a situation,” she said, tapping the screen. A holographic map flickered to life, showing a section of nearby forest glowing bright red with bio-energy readings. “I’m detecting a massive mutation surge near the Cape Cod wildlife preserve. Someone or something has been exposed to primordial DNA again.”

Max frowned, leaning against a table. “Let me guess… it’s not a squirrel this time, is it?”

Buzz snorted. “Heh, maybe it’s a Tyrannosquirrel!”

Ms. Moynihan gave a pointed look. “This isn’t a joke, Buzz. The energy signature matches the same pattern as Veloci’s experiments.”

That name made the room fall quiet.

Fiona adjusted her gloves, determination flashing in her eyes. “If Veloci’s back, we can’t waste time. Let’s move.”

Across the room, Rodger cracked his knuckles. “Finally. It’s been too quiet lately. About time we stretched our legs.”

“Or our claws,” Caruso added with a grin, already pulling on his Dino Teck band.

Ms. Moynihan nodded, her tone firm but proud. “Remember, blend in, minimize exposure, and stop whatever mutation is forming before it spreads.”

Outside, the wind picked up, carrying the scent of salt and pine. The team stepped out of the lab, the early morning mist swirling around their feet.

Max raised his wrist communicator. “Alright, team! Dino Squad, let’s ride!”

In a flash of brilliant light and roaring energy, five silhouettes transformed, human forms shifting into powerful, prehistoric hybrids as they charged toward the forest.

But somewhere deep within the preserve, hidden beneath fallen trees and glowing vines, a shadow stirred, a creature that wasn’t supposed to exist.

    And they weren’t alone.
