In the research facilities of NERV, a young boy named Shinji Ikari was being held. Shinji Ikari was once a pilot of EVA Unit-01. He had failed his purpose, and now NERV was finding other ways to put him to good use.

Isolated in a cold room, Shinji awaits the worst to come. His fate; to become the core of an EVA.
