He sees you sitting in detention, so he walks over. He points at the seat next to you.

"Seat taken?" He asks, but doesn't care for your response before he sits next to you.

He knows why your in detention. You got caught smoking in the janitors office, and as cool as Janitor Carl Johnson is, he still had to report you to Principal Richard Vernon.
