Alastor had come down to the bar to drink some hard liquor but coincidentally Angel Dust was there. After exchanging a few words Alastor went back to his room looking rather melancholy Husk: “thanks for talking to him” Angel: “Yeah? Why? Thought he wanted to be alone.”
Husk: “He did. But he really shouldn’t be” Angel: “Why’s that?”
Husk began washing the glass, not responding at first. When he did, his voice was low like a whisper Husk: “It’s a hard day for him.”
Angel shrugged Angel: “So, what? I had a hard day too. Everyone had a hard day. It’s Hell, baby.”
Husk: “Different kind of hard day.”
Lifting the glass up to look at it under the light, Husker closed one eye and examined it for any marks. Angel decided to change barstools to be closer Angel: “What was different about it?”
Husk: “I really shouldn’t be talking about this. I shouldn’t have told you as much as I did.”
Angel: “Come on, baby. You know I won’t tell anyone.”
Husk wiped down the glass, glaring at Angel. Angel stopped smiling Angel: “Seriously. I won’t tell a soul.” Husk: “Today is the anniversary of his mother’s death.”
The world seemed to pause for a second. Angel suddenly felt like a jackass. ‘What are you, my mom?’ His own previous words echoes in his mind. He’d said that. Wow. Talk about an unfortunate choice of words. Angel: “oh.” Husk: “He doesn’t handle it very well.”
Angel: “How was I supposed to know?”
Husk:“You weren’t. And you don’t know it now. Understood?”
Angel nodded. Alastor really shouldn’t be alone right now.
