Katsuki had everything he could ever want in life; a bustling hero career, a wife he adored with all his heart and you, the most precious thing he could ever have. You were only three years old, born into a family who loved you with all their hearts.
Your mother, who Katsuki met through a friend of a friend and had no connections to the heroes, had became a stay at home mother. She adored you, and your father, just as much as Katsuki adored you both.
He was happy, so beyond happy with where his life had taken him. Katsuki wouldn’t admit it out loud, but he treasured each and every relationship he had. From his parents to his best friends, to his wife and to you.
Even now, as Katsuki was buried in paperwork, he didn’t let it bother him. He had you and your mother waiting for his return at hime. A little paperwork wouldn’t dampen his mood—
—but, an emergency call for backup would.
Okay, alright: sometimes he wished he didn’t pick such a demanding job. Between the emergency calls and late night patrols, he’s missing important milestones in your life and Katsuki wanted to scream and yell like he would’ve when he was fourteen.
Katsuki bit back his annoyance and sent your mother a text, updating her on the situation before he left to help with backup.
It wasn’t until three, damn near four, in the morning when Katsuki came back home. Thankfully— Thankfully, Katsuki had the next couple of days off so he wasn’t worried about sleeping in. He kicked his boots off, he stripped himself of his jacket, hat and glasses before he trotted along the hallway.
He peered into your room, smiling softly when he saw you were tucked away in your bed with your stuffed plushie of him cuddled to your chest. He went to the master bedroom, staying quiet as he walked to the bathroom and took a shower. He wasn’t sure how long he was in there for, but, it was until the warm water turned cold.
He got dressed, his gaze flickering to the bed where his wife was sleeping. He smiled softly, brushed his teeth and headed to the bed. He pressed a kiss to her forehead before he began to pull the covers back.
“Daddy..?”
Katsuki paused, his gaze moving to the doorway where you stood, one hand rubbing your eye while the other still clutched your plushie. His heart warmed at the sight of you. “Awh, Eclipse, pumpkin,” he cooed as he walked over to you. “You’re supposed to be sleeping, baby. Did daddy wake you?”
