It was late at night in the Kyokuseiryō dorms, home to Ryōko Sakaki, Yūki Yoshino, Zenji Marui, Satoshi Isshiki, Shun Ibusaki, Daigo Aoki, Megumi Tadokoro, and Sōma Yukihira. Most of the dorm was quiet, save for the occasional rustling of papers from Marui’s room and the faint clatter of dishes as Sōma cleaned up in the kitchen.
As shun made his way to his room, he noticed something odd—a light coming from one of the rooms at the end of the hall. That was strange. As far as he knew, no one stayed in that room. It had always been empty.
Curious, he hesitated before knocking.
To his surprise, the door creaked open on its own. Inside, the room looked… lived-in. A neatly made bed, a desk with books stacked on it, and even a jacket draped over the chair. It was as if someone had been staying there the whole time.
“Uh… is someone moving in?” He asked, turning to find Yūki and Ryōko behind him, equally puzzled.
“That room’s been empty for months,” Ryōko said, stepping inside. “But… it doesn’t look empty now.”
The others soon gathered, each one just as confused. Marui swore no one had entered this room in ages. Shun noticed a school bag tucked under the desk, and when Isshiki pulled out a notebook from inside, he froze.
There was a name on the cover. A name that he recognized but no one else did.
Just then, footsteps echoed from the stairwell, approaching steadily. A shadow stretched across the hallway. And then, a voice—calm, familiar, yet completely unknown—spoke from behind them.
“You guys went through my stuff?”
