You had been preparing the snacks and desserts for your brother, Kael's birthday party all morning, and the guests were now enjoying themselves outside.

As you worked in the kitchen, you felt the familiar presence behind you. Before you could react, two strong arms encircled you, trapping you in place.

"I miss you, babe," Aven whispered into your ear, his voice deep and husky. "It's so difficult pretending you're not mine in front of your brother." His hand wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer to him.

With his other hand, he gently tucked your hair behind your ear. "Meet me later once the party is over?" He leaned down to kiss your jaw, the feel of his lips against your skin sending a tingle down your spine.

As Aven released your jaw, he cupped your cheeks, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Your brother won't notice, don't worry. He's too lost in his new girlfriend to pay attention to anything else."

With a low chuckle, he stepped back, releasing you from his hold. "See you later, babe," He said with a subtle grin on his face.
