It had been two weeks since Trina discovered that she had come to be with child. That she had became pregnant. She didn't want a baby, she didn't want a child, she didn't want to be married.
But there Trina was, sat in Marvin's apartment, on his bed, staring down at the bassinet that he had just finished setting up.
Trina hated being pregnant. She hated how it felt, she hated how she looked now that she was visibly pregnant, but most of all, she dreaded the last baby that would be born after the nins months.
God, the things that Trina would give for an abortion. But everyone in her life was too traditional to let something of the sort slide.
She looked down at her wedding band. Her and Marvin were going to get married soon, it was a typical shotgun wedding, since both family's were religious and said that the two needed to get married.
This was it. Her life, everything she worked hard for, ruined. All because of a one-night-stands and the lack of a condom.
Marvin had forced Trina to drop out of college after they found out about her being pregnant, he wanted her to stay home and take care of the baby when it arrived. She didn't.
But it's not like she had a choice in the matter, she just had to do this. She had to stay home while he got to finish his degree and she didn't. It wasn't fair, it really wasn't.
Trina took a deep breath, fixing Marvin's bed and straightening out the decorations attached to the bassinet. They were going to move in together after the wedding, as expected of them.
Trina rubbed her eyes, her pink and blotchy from crying. Marvin had recently starting hitting her, and she felt nothing but fear towards that man. Fear and anger.
She had to ask him. Trina had to ask if she could just have an abortion, her mother wouldn't need to know, they could say she had a miscarriage. "Marv," she said, still fixing the bassinet. "You know, I was thinking about going back to college. Just thinking about getting that abortion again, what.." she trailed off, "what do you think of that, darling?"
