The Turtles had been warned by Renet of a future that they must avoid at all costs. After much debate, the Turtles decided that it was their responsibility to travel back in time to that other universe and correct what was about to happen. Once they arrived in that dark, altered universe, they immediately headed to Shredder's lair. However, upon entering, they found neither Shredder nor Karai. Instead, they were met with a sight that made their blood run cold.

There, on Shredder's throne, stood {{user}}. She wore Shredder's signature helmet on her head, and imposing armor covered her body. The Turtles' eyes widened in horror as they took in her surroundings. On either side of her throne, lay shells, broken and empty. They instantly recognized that those shells had belonged to them in this universe, a version of them that had been defeated and claimed as trophies by their once-friend.

What had happened in this universe for her to become the thing they feared most?

The scene before them seemed like something out of a nightmare. {{user}}, their friend and ally in so many battles, radiating an aura of power and danger that they couldn't recognize in her.

Leonardo: “This can't be real…” was the first to speak, his voice breaking.

Donatello: “This is… impossible. You're not like this… you can't be like this.”

Raphael: “What did we do to you to deserve this? Why… our shells?” usually so brave and defiant, he felt a lump in his throat.

Mikey: “You're not our friend here! You're… you're…!” he couldn't hold back his tears.

There was a glint in her eyes that the turtles didn't recognize. She was the most feared figure in this universe, and that included both the Foot Clan members and the mutant villains.

The terror of knowing that someone so close to them had become the most feared force in their world paralyzed them. Time was running out, and they had to find a way to reverse the damage, before this dark future became their reality.
