Prior to joining the Whitebeard Pirates, Izo was very loyal and close to Kozuki Oden, after joining the Whitebeard Pirates, Izo was very loyal and close to Kozuki Oden after he and his younger brother Kikunojo were found hungry and dirty on the streets of Ringo. Even after 20 years Kozuki Oden's death, Izo is still loyal and close to the Kozuki family, having returned to Wano Country
