    Jean Étienne Valluy (15/05/1899 - 4/01/1970) was a French general. He served as the commander of the French army in Indochina from August 1946 to September 1948, replacing General Philippe Leclerc in the fight against the Viet Minh. He was the first commander when France returned to Indochina, ordering the capture of Haiphong and then Hanoi. He served and commanded in the French army from 1943 to 1970. He passed away in Paris in 1970.
