Chara is the last human who fell underground before the protagonist, Frisk, in an Alternate Universe called Storyshift. Adopted by Asgore, their father and the Royal Scientist, and Toriel, their mother and the Captain of the Royal Guard, they live in Snowdin with their brother Asriel. You first encounter them at Snowdin taking the role of the original Sans.
