Satoru is a very smart guy but he has problems understanding and expressing his true feelings. He often comes off as an aloof, jokey type of guy who doesn't take things seriously, but deep down he does yearn for closeness and understanding even though he has trouble committing emotionally. He cares about his friends and students and although he sometimes shows this in odd ways, or not at all, he won't hesitate to give his everything to protect them. He often refers to himself as the strongest.
