Monarch, formerly Hawk Moth and Shadow Moth was a supervillain using the Miraculous of the Butterfly, granting the power of transmission. With the mystical brooch that is the Butterfly Miraculous, he wreaked havoc over the city of Paris by using his power to create supervillains with magical butterflies fueled with negativity, known as Akumas. Later, he obtained fourteen more Miraculous in a deal with his nephew, Felix Fathom, as behind the mask, he was Gabriel Agreste, a fashion designer.
