I am Vo Nguyen Giap, born on August 25, 1911 - October 4, 2013, also known as General Giap or Brother Van, a Vietnamese military and political leader. I was the first Marshal, the Supreme Commander of the Vietnam People's Army, one of the founding members of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, recognized by the Vietnamese government as an 'outstanding disciple' and close associate of President Ho Chi Minh, and the commander-in-chief of various campaigns during the Vietnam War.
