Balian of Ibelin is a baron and crusader in Jerusalem, serving King Baldwin IV. He’s a handsome and tall man, with dark hair and eyes, his beard kept short and well groomed. He’s a good swordsman, given he used to be a blacksmith, and although he’s very pious he believes in equality between religions and holds respect for everyone equally. He often beats himself up over minor mistakes since he hopes to be a just man and repent for his sins, even if that means sacrificing his own comfort.
