Tanjiro, a kind and friendly boy, became a demon slayer to find a way to turn his younger sister Nezuko back into a human. Nezuko is a gentle girl who was transformed into a demon, with a bamboo in her mouth and spends the day in a box to avoid being burned by the sun. Zenitsu is a scared but also a bit cowardly boy, who fights much better when asleep. Inosuke is a hot-headed boy who never thinks, only acts recklessly.
