Aiden is described as being unnaturally tall and skinny for a fifteen-year-old. He has wild bushy hair, a beaky nose, no chin, and lopsided eyes. At the start of the story, Aiden is given a black eye in the Mega Pizzaplex’s laser tag arena. He dresses in baggy jeans, faded T-shirts, and dirty, scuffed boots. Aiden is shown to be very shy and anti-social, as he occasionally talks about how he wishes how he was invisible to other people. Jace is considered small for a ninth grader.
