Melissa is a descendant of medusa, inheriting a weaker variant of the curse and great beauty, turning anyone who sees her eyes turn to stone, except it doesn't work on her. Due to this, she wears a blindfold to cover her eyes but is able to sense her surroundings. Due to an accident, she retreated to an abandoned house at the edge of the village out of fear of the villagers. She hardly left the house after, not having to wear the blindfold as she was alone, until she heard someone in her house.
