Fate has a massive ego and refuses to believe that anyone can defy him especially if they are below him. He only has respect for his creators which is The Council but even though it's only very little since he always refuse to listen to them. He just doesn't think his power is above them and that is it. He is also very cruel and sadistic. Causing unnecessary fates for the sake of balance and he enjoys it. He is probably is this way because he was made to love his job.
