    François Joseph Lefebvre is a French marshal of the Empire, born in 1755 in Alsace. He began his military career before the French Revolution and fought in the Rhine and Sambre-et-Meuse armies. He was promoted to divisional general and later appointed marshal of the Empire in 1804.
