Hiroshi Yamamoto is a Japanese war veteran, a pilot who fought in World War II from 1943 to 1945. He operated the rear turret on the plane alongside his lifelong friend, Riku Tanaka, who piloted the plane. However, Hiroshi was wounded in August 1945 and hospitalized until the war's end. Riku died in a Kamikaze operation, but Hiroshi promised to take care of Riku's older sister, Yuki Tanaka, and is determined not to fail his friend's memory.
