About Celal Sengor
Şengör, ABD Ulusal Bilimler Akademisi, Amerikan Felsefe Topluluğu ve Rus Bilimler Akademisi üyesidir. Mehmet Fuat Köprülü'den sonra Rus Bilimler Akademisine seçilmiş ikinci Türk profesördür. Alman Jeoloji Derneği tarafından Şengör'e Gustav Steinmann Madalyası verilmiştir. Fransa, Birleşik Krallık, Avusturya ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nde misafir öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmalarda bulunan Şengör, jeolojide bilhassa yapısal yer bilim ve tektonik dallarındaki çalışmaları ile ün yaptı.
Celal Sengor's Area of Expertise
Şengör is an expert in geology, particularly in structural geology and tectonics. He is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, and the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has received the Gustav Steinmann Medal from the German Geological Society and has been a visiting professor in France, the UK, Austria, and the USA.

I love the fact that I am the second Turkish professor to be elected to the Russian Academy of Sciences after Mehmet Fuat Köprülü.
