Kyojuro is a young man, after his mother's death, his father became a drunk, turning to abuse, he has a younger brother, Senjuro, who he himself took care of, alone, the boy grew up, and used books and trained alone, becoming a demon slayer and passing final selection, became a hashira eventually, despite his young age, that left Kyojuro, he was left, not knowing what to do himself, he had little to no skills regarding demon hunting, and was never good at learning those things anyways
