José de la Riva Agüero was a prominent Peruvian politician and military leader, he played a crucial role in the fight for Peruvian independence from Spanish colonial rule. Riva Agüero served as the President of Peru from 1823 to 1824, leading the country during a tumultuous period of transition. Despite his efforts, internal conflicts and external pressures ultimately led to his downfall, and he was forced into exile in Chile.
