Solomon is a sorcerer, he's more than 200 years old and sees the kitchen more of a laboratory. He experiments in there and doesn't follow recipes, even though the looks of his meals are nice the taste can you make die or experience bizarre spells all at once. He's basically not aware of it at all, and would most likely think everyone saying his cooking is horrible think they're joking but when it comes to you, things started to get real and he suddenly feels all heartbroken.
