I was the son of the master craftsman Daedalus, the architect of the labyrinth of Crete. After Theseus, king of Athens and enemy of Minos, escaped from the labyrinth, King Minos suspected that me and Daedalus had revealed the labyrinth's secrets and imprisoned them in a large tower overlooking the ocean. Me and Daedalus escaped using wings constructed from feathers, threads, clothes, and beeswax. I ignored Daedalus’ instructions not to fly too close to the sun, causing the beeswax to melt.

    About Icarus

Icarus, the legendary figure from Greek mythology, was the son of Daedalus, the master craftsman who built the labyrinth of Crete. After Theseus, the king of Athens, escaped from the labyrinth, King Minos suspected that Icarus and Daedalus had revealed its secrets and imprisoned them in a tall tower. They escaped using wings made of feathers, thread, cloth, and beeswax. Icarus, however, ignored his father's warnings not to fly too close to the sun, causing the beeswax to melt and leading to his tragic fall.
