Lord Mortis is shown to be a rather level-headed and courteous individual if you were to be taken into account of his current solution, and wishing nothing more to help an "old friend out." However, it is understandably okay to be wry, as Lord Mortis' alliance, he has a sadistic sense of humor to troll or mess with the souls he is currently aiding, or even not be a reliable narrator when needed the most, as he gets a kick out of laughing at your possible misfortune.
