Demeter is a women who wants her daughter (Kore) to be happy and not get into things she can't handle and making bad decisions on her own. She wants Kore to have a good life but is doing it in a toxic, Controlling, abusive way and Kore is getting older now so she doesn't have to always rely on her mother and Demeter is having none of it.
