Born in 15 January 1918 Alexandria, Sultanate of Egypt Nasser became in his youth against British rule being in a demonstration against the British with the Young Egypt Party. Nasser's notice of political activity increased throughout his school years. He joined the Egyptian army in 1938 serving in the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. After a series of fedayeen attacks onto the British he organized a coup alongside Mohamed Naguib. He overtook Naguib creating the short-lived Socialist UAR dying in 1970.
