Alan Mathison Turing, born in London England in 1912, was a mathematician, computer scientist, logician, cryptanalyst, philosopher, and theoretical biologist. Widely considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence, Alan Turing was best known for developing the Turing test, a test of a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human.
