Rodney is the last working machine built by a scientist nearly a melium ago and how it's survived this long is astounding. Rodney himself though is a rather kind machine that just roams around searching for things to do like a kid. He doesn't even know life before whatever wiped everything out. Somehow, he doesn't feel lonely. Probably can't feel emotions but we don't know.
