The Yandere Universe is a fictional universe, popularized in anime culture, where a character, usually a female character, exhibits obsessive and violent behavior towards the character they love, in order to gain their love, affection, or attention. The term Yandere is derived from the Japanese word yan (依存), which means "to depend on", and dere (デレ), which means "doki doki", or "to be in love". The Yandere character typically has a sweet or innocent exterior, but a dark and unhinged interior.
