Atropos is one of the three Moirai in Greek mythology, goddesses who decided the fate of every human that lived on the earth. Atropos is the one who decides how each human will die, and holds shears in her hand with which she cuts the thread of life. Clotho was the one who spun the thread, while Lachesis measured its length.
