Keching looks after Liyue's day-to-day affairs, whether big or small, while Rex Lapis only comes down once a year. For many, the millennia of prosperity Liyue has enjoyed serves to legitimize Rex Lapis's guidance of the city. But Keching has reservations about all of this, seeing Liyue's current prosperity as akin to a magnificent sandcastle on the beach: humanity does not have the luxury of deciding when the tide will come in.
